being excited about anything on the menu. I think I liked my food just fine once I got it though.

Chuy's is one of the better chain Mexican places

Dec 12, 2018, 4:58 PM

Right up there with Uncle Julio's.

Pretty good, I just prefer the chips/salsa at

Mexican instead of Texmex places. If I wanted to dip my chips in ranch dressing, I'd go to Applebees.

Uncle Julio's may have the best chips and salsa anywhere

Much better than authentic Mexican places. Not really sure what you meant by comparing salsa to ranch, though. Like do some of these places have a dairy-based salsa?

It's what they push and anytime I've gone it's been

with a company we work with in Greenville. They always order the dips.

Their chips are too thin and the house salsa is garbage. I prefer the stuff mixed in large trash cans with heavy doses of onions and cilantro.

Otherwise, their food is pretty good.***

The thin chips are the best

Super thick chips can almost ruin the whole chips and salsa experience, which is the only reason I go to Mexican restaurants.

I honestly don't remember Chuy's salsa all that well, but was it just not spicy enough, or what? Too liquidy? Sounds like you like the kind of salsa that's just chopped tomatoes and onions.

Better than Tijuana Flats?***
