Feb 18, 2019, 12:28 PM

"I'm sure you hear this a lot, but our open office set up at our XXXXXXX location has created some acoustical and noise issues"

Indians (dots not feathers) all talking over each other in the background when on "customer service" calls.

they have to make up for creating the dreaded cubicle somehow....

Never worked in open bullpen type office, but did get the cubicle farm treatment for about a year after college. Whole company was production line. Number, not a name type. Glad those days are gone.

when you put 500 in a room, and make them talk on phones all day is a recipe for failure.

Ever been to a call center? You can't hear yourself think....

By gawd, its the worst work environs I've ever seen, not on TV. Trying to play the IT guy, and please those people is a chore.

I've had the misfortune of working in a call center.

90% of the time it's not about collaboration, it's about seeing how many
more people they can get in the same space. Oh and if you choose to WFH
all the better that helps the cause. This idea may have started with
collaboration, but now not so much.

Solution? Accordion partitions, can’t see everybody but you can still hear them.
