But the issue is, journalism accusing journalism without hard proof is just “he said she said”. They both can tell different accounts of the exact same story. The odd thing is, they can both actually tell the truth, to the best of their knowledge, and it still be different stories. Knowing what happened that day can never really be decided by a photograph or a story. If the photo was staged it’s a partial lie which could make it all a lie. Perhaps the photographer didn’t believe he was staging anything at all. Maybe he just wanted a better shot of those eyes. Or maybe he staged nothing and the story being told today has changed because those telling it have changed their position on the matter.
In the end...I guess you just had to be there.
