srsly...

Feb 7, 2019, 11:05 AM [ in reply to pre-workout in the morning ]

I need to do some of that...

I just weighed in at the doctor and was 225. I was 185 all through HS and college. I got down to 195 a year ago by eating better and light exercise. I need to get back on it.

So, as a certified FBcooch, what do you think about the following diet:

Pre-workout breakfast

protein shake for lunch

normal supper

### for dessert

no meaningful exercise

cut back on beer, but not completely eliminate

none or reduced candy intake

a few cheat meals hear and there

also... what is "pre-workout? Is that just prekum?

PreWorkout is like legal coke you take before working out

Feb 7, 2019, 12:41 PM [ in reply to srsly... ]

which is weird to do it twice a day without working out but TBH I have not studied it. My brother uses some before working out and it just gives him tons of energy to push more weight, go longer, etc.

Sounds like you're not trying hard enough

Feb 7, 2019, 11:49 AM

Unless you were already in shape.

Just kidding, that's pretty good, especially if you're in your 30s. It's hard to maintain the discipline not to over-eat or just to not continue eating when you're still hungry.

When I was 26, I think I lost something like 23 pounds in 3-4 weeks just from doing high-intensity interval workouts and not eating a lot. I probably lost 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I wasn't fat at all, I was just out of shape.

I doubt I could do that now, although I could lose about 15 pounds. I probably work out more now than I did back then, but I also eat like crap.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's what I'm working on now

the idea of eating until I'm no longer hungry instead of eating until I'm full.

You would be surprised how big of a mental #### that is.

I've always just eaten all of whatever I was given, and I eat out way too much so portions are often way too big. What I've tried to do is eat a salad or just a protein bar for dinner after working out, with a bigger lunch because I figure there's more time for lunch to metabolize while I'm still active. Of course, half the time I end up eating too much for dinner anyway.
