away with that route and bring it straight through property that Strom sold to the gubmint...just like I-20.

I think it's a good idea if the study shows that enough...

Oct 22, 2019, 6:48 PM

people use it to cut down on air traffic between the cities. A non stop probably takes about that much time. I'm not a climate change guy but we should put the least amount of carbon in our air that we can. I love breathing.

I just wouldn't be comfortable with politicians selecting the people who do the study or the politicians selecting the estimators for the project. The ultimate risk is not finishing it (1), spending 10-12 times more than estimated or the over spending them not having enough people to ride the train to make it cut down on air traffic.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsontiger1988-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Carbon will not float around in the air....

used to be able to do it in 3:30 back in the 90's.

Oct 22, 2019, 6:54 PM

Congestion probably a little too much these days, but I didn't have Waze back then either keeping me in the 411 on the popo so maybe it's a wash.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, if they do it. Put it right beside 85 all the way...

Us Greenvillians just considered it making it to Atlanta

Oct 22, 2019, 7:05 PM

when you got IOP on 85, so that's a loose interpretation.

Back in the late 90's traffic didn't automatically stop from Sugarloaf Pkwy to Chateau Elan either, so there was that. Gville to ATL was a pretty reliable 2 hours.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Here to lake house on Keowee is now 2 hours, no stop.

Oct 22, 2019, 7:10 PM

it's 2020-where is all the futuristic stuff we were promised

Oct 22, 2019, 7:59 PM

as kids? We were supposed to have flying jet cars and rayguns and teleportation by now.

Instead, we still have the same boring passenger planes designed in the '60s (now taking MUCH longer to board!!); the best selling pistol is still the 1911, named that because it was invented in 1911; and nothing even close to teleportation.

The greatest modern invention we have is social media, where we can now instantly yell and scream at each other instead of writing a letter to complain. Whoopdeewoo. So in 2020 we can still only teleport OUR OPINIONS.

What a shittyass bill of goods we were sold as kids.

I don't see it happening in the Southeast or Northeast (topography, politics), but I could see Virgin expanding in the West and Upper Midwest.
