sirrius...restaurant recommendations near columbia airport
Jan 21, 2019, 10:42 AM

Here's the deal, I have a group of 4 flying out of Columbia and we're having a dinner meeting the night before. I've been asked to figure out where since I'm from the Carolinas and obviously should know everything Columbia *insert rolls eyes meme*. I avoid Columbia, so I'm asking you's guys.
Holiday Inn and Suites Airport is good enough and probably where we'll stay.
I need a restaurant. Lee's Inlet Kitchen isn't close enough. I need an upscale-ish joint (since one of the peoples is persnickity about dining and wine and booze and *insert rolls eyes meme again*) near the airport.
Go. There will be prizes for the best recommendations.
Oh, and puck the Fatriots.

Thot it was worth looking at b/c blocked by work. Went to phone. #Disappoint
FWIW, I have never been to either. I just googled. Looks good though.

Fine dining near Columbia Airport.... The locals put on their Sunday's best and head to Lizards Thicket.
You're gonna have to drive 15 minutes (most likely towards Columbia) to find anything worth remembering...
My suggestion: Stay in the Vista area of Columbia. Plenty of dining and hotel options there. And its only 10 minutes from the Airport. You really don't want to stay out near the airport if you don't have to. Unless you are into hookers and meth...

Also a good (albeit redneck) dive bar called the Mile High Club out by the airport. 2308 Airport Blvd, Cayce, SC 29033

There is nothing nice around the Airport.

You'll have to go to the Vista or into Lexington. Vista is closer to that hotel with more options. Suggestions above are good. There's also the Carolina Strip Club which I think is pretty great.

If you are going to the Vista

Gervais and Vine has a great wine list. There is also a place West Columbia called Terra that is really good farm to table cuisine. Just down State Street from there is 116 State which, like G&V is more Tappas. The best restaurant in Columbia is Motor Supply Company in the Vista. Menu changes constantly and always really good. I've take New York snobs there and they all thought it was as good as anything anywhere.

Bourbon (on Main Street) is another good option. Cola's is also great. All will be 15min drive from airport. Only the Waffle House is good eating near there.

Charleston has some nice restaurants. Poogan’s, 82 Queen, Husk, Halls, & many, many more.
If that’s too far, maybe the food court at the mall??? Or Lizards Thicket!
