Ole Miss underdogs at Memphis...

Memphis must have SEC speed.


I don't get into the conference arguments too much because it doesn't matter. Clemson is the champion, not the ACC, and when Bama won the title, Bama was the champ, not the SEC. But it still amuses me when commentators talk about "SEC speed" or an "SEC defense." I always ask, does that mean speed like Vanderbilt or a defense like Ole Miss or South Carolina?

They just don't want to be there. Or they're tired from their gruelling SEC practices. Or something like that.

FWIW - I'm not so sure that Memphis is all that good, or Old Miss is all that bad. Even though the Ole Miss HC is on the hot seat IMO. He hasn't done anything there to impress anyone. But then, he's probably not allowed to pay recruits like Freeze did.
