Now #35 in NET rankings...

Mar 10, 2019, 9:01 AM

Just a huge win Saturday. NC State #32 and Syracuse is now #42...

Florida ahead of us hurts but that seems to be the only bubble team ahead besides State.

How is Flawda ahead of us?

Their season consists of one win. LSU. And... that’s it.

Beating LSU is nice. But there is a LOT of bad losses on that schedule. 17-14 doesn’t scream top 10% in the country to me.

I believe with a NET ranking of 35 and a 9-9 record in the conference, Clemson is in the tournament now. A win over NC State is just icing on the cake.

Yeah, but we can't opt to not play that game and we

could still lose it. With a loss we could fall to 40ish in NET and 9-10 in the ACC.

I agree.

I believe that the committee will consider NET, quality wins, bad losses, overall record, and conference record.

We look good in all of these, with the possible exception of quality wins since we don’t have as many as some other bubble teams. We also played a good schedule, don’t have any bad losses, and have a good overall and conference record.

Even though Florida has a good NET, they have some bad losses and their overall record leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t think they will get in.

They will use that game as the deciding factor.

It makes the decision so much easier. Some projections have both NC State and Clemson on the outside looking in. I don't think we get in if we lose.

We are seeded lower than NCSU if we are in at all. I have no idea what this committee will do with the new NET ratings but I'd feel pretty confident we get in with a win over NCSU. Lose and I'd say it's less than a 50% chance but I'm just guessing.

The one HUGE red flag on our resume is road wins. We don't have any good road win this year. That's why I think we need the NCSU game. We still need to prove we can win a game at a neutral site vs a tourney caliber team.
