Until it costs them a spot in the playoffs, Notre Dame will never join a conference.

ND is living off their NBC contract. What course do they take if the networks go elsewhere or use their funds for a bigger event? I agree the time is fast approaching when the ACC will press ND to join as a full member while seeking a sixteenth school such WVa or Cincinnati.

Go Tigers!

Why would we need a 16th member? Jeez, we need to drop

Who would you like dropped? I could live with a fourteen member ACC, but money talks and other than Weak Forest I do not see a reduction unless BC went to the B10 in the future. I really think in another decade there will be several conferences expanding.

Go Tigers!

Here's an idea...

1. Push ND hard to become a full-time ACC member. Let ND keep their NBC deal if they agree to these terms: All NBC revenue from conference games only (so, 4 games annually) is split: 50% to ND, 50% to the ACC. (So, hypothetically speaking, if they get $20M per year with NBC and they have 7 home games, the ACC gets s $5.7M share per year.). On the flip side, ND gets half of what's allocated as "football revenue" from the conference TV deal with ESPN.

2. Go after Penn State. The Big Ten's redheads stepchild will be back to playing traditional rivals Syracuse and Pitt, and will get to revive rivalries with BC and ND every year.

3. Go to North & South divisions.

These moves cement the ACC's place in college football and make it college football's first 16-team superconference.

I think it can be done.

Well a 12-0 season without a play off game, and the comity stating that the teams teams in the play offs has a 13 game record over their 12. That There should fix it if the comity has enough heart and nutz to do it....
