A Virginia state employee has complained that her eighth-grade daughter was upset during a tour of the historic governor's residence when first lady Pam Northam handed a ball of cotton to her and another black child and asked them to imagine being enslaved and having to pick cotton.

She could have at least branded a couple of the students on the face with a hot iron, to really convey what being a slave was like at the time. But this story comes up every year because kids come home with cotton in their pockets after a field trip and the parents get suspicious.

Lets be fair, there is nothing liberal about being as stupid as that woman is.

To the young men, she should have shot them with a .22 so they could imagine what it was like

to be a soldier in war.

any attempt to point that out is met with - "Well if you don't see what's wrong with that, then you're a racist." The lady complaining said the incident indicated to her that the Northam's didn't grasp the implications of their behavior...

Also - the folks complaining are implying only the black students were given cotton - the Northam's are saying everyone was...
