APM thinks the Tiger Nation/Clemson Family, whatever, are getting too far ahead of themselves with regard to the upcoming season.
Yes, we have talent galore on the offensive side of the ball. Yes, the defense should reload.
BUT. People forget it was those 6-star DL studs who came back last year that led the team from beginning to end. Dem boyz is gone.
Not saying we won't do very well. Am saying it's too early to pencil in an automatic rematch with Bama. Or an appearance in the CFP.

The one thing I will say about our d line last year though

is the other team was allowed to hold ALL THE TIME against them. It was the Shaq Oneal effect. They are so good that if it was called fairly, we should have had about 6 holds per game. Instead, we went 7 or 8 games without a single hold call... not one. That allowance of holding tempered the dominance that that Dline would have had.

Don't think there will be much fall off on D, we get stronger on the back end and while it's hard to replace Dex, Christian, Clemissle, and Bryant, our next ups ain't no pushovers. Our D might be a little more susceptible to good running teams, but any opponent will still have to score a LOTTA points to stay level with our O. Hard to do just totin' the rock.
ATM game will tell the tale. Last couple of years or O hasn't looked all that great at the beginning of the season. Need to be sharp when the Ags come to town.

Alabama was a good running game and passing. We took away the pass and let them run it down our throats between the 20s. The classic bend dont break. We have good run stopping corners and great run stopping safeties. Shorten the field and make it easier to get them involved. Now the front wont have the same stopping power. But like somebody else said, that line wont really be a push over. We went from arguably the best ever Dline in history to probably a top 10 Dline. LOL... this is a fun time for Tigers.

TAMU is the only game I could see us possibly losing and even with a loss to them we could probably sneak back into the CFP with an 11-1 record and conf champ unless the other conferences produce some undefeated teams.
All that being said, I have penciled in for a CFP appearance but think we are rebuilding too much to get to the title game or win it all...butt 2020 season is going to be Natty #3 under Dabo

Still A&M can beat us as can Cuse - and anyone else that plays out of their minds and we screw up.
