All of the current football team, and from 2016, on back, were in elementary to, perhaps, middle school. None of what transpired to November, 2008, mattered to them, nor does, to this day.
I didn't know T-Net from Adam in '08. Until just now, I had not read the article (thanks, Neal!) where David so eloquently laid out his rationale! But...he nailed it. Just as TDP nailed it. Both for very different reasons, but the outcome can't be quibbled with.

where the Hargrave Academy is. Does Clemson even
do that anymore? The last player I remember they
were going to send was Oglesby, the RB from Daniel
in 2014, but he ended up at Memphis instead. Don't
recall anyone needing to go that route in the last
5 years. I think Clowney would have had to do that.
Maybe the increasing number of early enrollees has
motivated players to keep their grades up in order
to graduate. And Clemson has been able to be more
selective. Really good players want to be eligible
to maybe go pro in 3 years and not start their careers
at a prep school.
