Local Virginny peaches this year leave a lot to be desired.

What ol' APM would give for a ginormo Edgefield-grown Elberta peach bought off a truck on the side of 19.
What ol' APM would give to have grandiddy, granmom, and diddy around to make and share some peach ice cream. And maybe to cut a good ol' watermelon in the backyard while we're at it.

especially grandmother and parents memories involve hand-cranked or electric-churned homemade peach ice cream. I've looked at peaches, not bought yet, still early here. Noticed Fresh Market is selling peaches from Botetourt's own Bryant orchards. I would expect the freestones will be larger and less intense flavor from this steady rain we've had.
