Lamar Jackson

Nov 4, 2019, 9:43 AM

The ravens dominated the Patriots playing nothing but old fashioned sockem football. Will this awaken the Gms of the NFL too look for the next Lamar? Only two guys I can think of top of my head Jalen Hurts and to a lesser extent Kb.

Wait until the multiple hits starts to take its toll

He's at the beginning of his NFL career...he's got some serious injuries coming down the street unfortunately. Defensive players love going after QBs

Running QB’s get smashed in the NFL. The only running QB I can think of with a long NFL career is Randal Cunningham and the older he got the less he ran. Michael Vick? Smashed. RG3? Smashed. Movement helps, talent helps, but ultimately a QB has to out think his opponents......straight athleticism gets smashed eventually.

Those guys aren't nearly as electric as Lamar

Nov 4, 2019, 9:57 AM

The last guy like him was Mike Vick. We will see if Lamar can stay healthy - Vick could not.

Vick went to the dogs mid career.***

I will admit when I'm wrong, never thought he'd be a QB

Nov 4, 2019, 10:02 AM

But, he can't take those hits (just like what happened to Vick and to some extent Newton).

And his throwing motion is still gawd awful. Example A is the number of balls batted at the line of scrimmage last night. Ravens were lucky known of those were intercepted (and a couple of them spent a large amount of time up in the air).

He has gone far beyond my expectations. I assumed he would be like Randle El and transition to receiver.

Levar has two things that neither of the ones you

mentioned have. Speed to kill, and a gun for an arm. He is the first genuinely FAST QB I have seen since Michael Vick. And, he is even shiftier than Vick while on the run. He also has that "can deliver the ball from any angle" gun that Mahomes has. I still think DW4 should have won the Heisman the year that Jackson won it, but they are both fun as heyall to watch in the pros. I pray that neither of them has a serious injury, I want to see them both toying with the league for years to come.

If he keeps 'showboating' at the goal line, somebody is

I'm a fan. He is entertaining to say the least

Nov 4, 2019, 10:18 AM

Seems like a pretty good guy who has matured quite a bit since college, too. Watched him go out of his way last night to help not only teammates off the ground, but opposing defenders as well.

Lamar was a good dude in college.

Nov 4, 2019, 10:28 AM

Not the smartest guy in the room by any stretch, but he was a great teammate.

Re: Lamar Jackson

I think he'll flash a couple times in his career and then eventually fade away. I don't think he has it between the ears to be an elite QB. But then again I thought Cam would never make it in the NFL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How could anyone not like watching Lamar.

Nov 4, 2019, 10:29 AM

Good dude and a ton of fun to watch play.
