Death threats against any mans family would have triggered a similar response, IMO. Can't fault the man for calling down some of the most reprehensible people in congress. Lines were crossed in a ######## created by the democrats. I would have been more concerned if he DIDNT put them in their place.

None of us were there or know what really happened. She appears to believe her story. Kavanaugh appears to believe his version. The truth is potentially somewhere in between.
Only a Sith speaks in absolutes.
As I said, I didn’t view his actions in high school and lack of overwhelming evidence as reason to deny his nomination. Coming across as a blowhard in round 2 nominations is not what I expect from a Supreme Court Judge.

Mid-80s, early-80s, then 1982 seemingly narrowed down out of no where.
Happened in late teens, then when she was 15.
Therapist notes allegedly list 4 guys in room, then her story 2 guys in room, 4 total in house.
She originally said she escaped the room and she could hear the boys laughing down the stairs and then talking to others downstairs. Later she testified that she could not hear conversations down stairs from the bathroom.
I don't think she came off like a liar, nor did Kavanaugh!

I can relate to Ford, as can probably many people who were victimized at one time or another at that time of their lives. I recall the identity of the victimizer, while the details about who else was around, where exactly we were, and so on are very blurry.
Meanwhile, Kavanaugh's denial taken alone was not suspicious. But when you add in the bizarre lies about what "devil's triangle" and "boofing" and rest mean, as well as his combative style (which was strategic, I understand, but still), he becomes an unreliable witness.

As for the changing years/descriptions....those are all of the different terms used recently by Ford in her different accounts. That's not really the same as remembering some details and not others.
And, personally, I never knew the term "boofing" as being sexual.
Also, sorry to hear you went threw something comparible to this. I haven't first-hand, but wife-of has been (worse even) and I know all to well the effects.

For the sake of argument I'll assume the truth of whatever that article says about Devil's Triangle.
But obviously the stories on that are mixed.

A more obvious lie is the "Renate alumnus" thing. The it's-because-she-was-our-friend story is such obvious garbage that you don't even have to consider the additional facts that (a) Renate never knew all these guys were referring to her like that and (b) when she found out, she was appalled. Because they're such good friends. Right, dickweed.
There's more. I don't know if you watched the hearing, but the most obvious thing he did was dodge questions, which is much smarter and safer than lying. Take the most memorable dodge, which was to ask a Senator's question about blacking out back at her, as if that's the sort of conduct he would ever allow from a litigant in his court.
Then you got stupid lies but not of monumental import, such as his false claim that he and his high school friends were “legal to drink” in high school, which is not possible given the 21-year drinking age (yes, even in his day).

As for the high school stories...I did some thinking about what's in my yearbooks and the saying we used to have for things. I can only image how all those things could be misconstrued. I think the mere fact that any of it was being discussed in a senate hearing was absurd.
As for the drinking age...it was 18 in DC fwiw

As for the drinking age...I understood his comments to be geared towards the availability of beer...not that they weren't drinking underage.
"My friends and I sometimes got together and had parties on weekends. The drinking age was 18 in Maryland for most of my time in high school, and was 18 in D.C. for all of my time in high school. I drank beer with my friends. Almost everyone did. Sometimes I had too many beers. Sometimes others did. I liked beer."
I don't believe he was claiming that he was 18 "most of his time in high school." I took him to be saying that he could easily get beer in hs because the drinking age was 18. Otherwise, why throw in the "most of my time in high school" part?

about the misery it brings the left. I've never seen such outrage reflecting off their outrageous behavior. I delight in their misery and enjoy the anguish that they feel in their souls. I can't wait until another SCOTUS seat comes open and we can confirm another judge who cares more about the constitution than some touchy feely liberal cause.
