Just heard on US Am that Jack Whitaker (formerly of CBS tv)

passed away today. 95 and a WWII vet. One of the great early tv broadcasting and golf commentators. He covered the NFL when I was a little kid and I was star struck when I saw him years later at a US Open.

serious & a quite handsome gentleman.

Got shafted by the Master's Bossman after using word "Mob" in relation to huge crowds at 18th...

and after 60 yrs with CBS he wasn't told he wasn't being renewed by any excutives there, but by his agent!
