my problem w rankngs is there is no recognition as to need at their new destination. it is more about fit and chemistry in college than what you did against whatever level of competition you played against in the past. Thant never gets factored in

It's more important to have the "correct" 5 star also...

You don't have to have 5 stars all across the field, but you need the "right 5 stars" in the right spots.

If Clemson gets Justin Fields instead of Trevor Lawrence, for example, then we likely don't win the national championship.

Kendrick was a 5 star who is going to be a great player, but Justyn Ross is the "next level 5 star".

Not all 5 stars are created equal.

we have rbs now so a rb of x stars while nice would have less value today than say a TE or DL of comparable ability at their position where we are having a greater need.

And player development should be factored in too. Clemson excels at this.
