Watching Army and Navy the other day reminded me that

Dec 10, 2018, 4:24 PM

... great football can be played by a bunch of guys who are out there because they love the game and they love their school without any real chance of turning pro as a mega rich athlete.

The trend toward leaving early for the NFL the last decade or so is something I’ve gotten somewhat used to, but this thing of just skipping your teams bowl game is little hard to swallow.

Sorry ... just my personal take.

I completely agree... i think a lot of these guys don't realize how much their team/universities/fans have given to them, and therefore are fine just putting themselves first. sad, but true.

It wasn’t TAMU vs LSU for sure ... but

... those kids played with heart and intensity and it was inspiring to me. Nobody was thinking about their draft position, or their agents, or the possibility of injury.

The players, the coaches, and the fans were totally focused on one thing ... winning that game.

It’s my favorite game of the year. True student athletes. Heroes.

The way football was meant to be.***
