Is it possible Herbie was taking the high road

Dec 2, 2018, 6:24 AM

on the CFP by saying UGA deserved to be #3? Is it possible that he really believes it should be Oklahoma but couldn’t say it because of his relationship with OSU?

The red flags come up when he tries to make us believe a two loss UGA is #3. Not buying!

Go Tigers!

It seems clear he was taking the “high” road.

DO you think Oklahoma or Ohio ST. are better teams than UGA? I do not but will disagree with Herbie on the slotting. I could put UGA at #4 no problem. They would beat the pants off either OU or tOSU.

Georgia had an opportunity to beat both Bama and LSU. If they had won either of those games,
I feel sure they would have made the playoff.
Gotta win your games.

Sure.

The problem is that words have meaning. You can't take one logical position in order to avoid taking a different position without literally misleading people. Herbie is a leader of the talking heads, and his comments direct the flow of talk.

That's why people on the SC recuse themselves for discussion about their schools. It's not just to avoid preferential treatment; it's also to ensure fair treatment. Right now, O31o St is at a disadvantage every time Herbie opens his mouth.

Hopefully their decisions today are truly independent of Herbie's logic. I think his 'high road' demonstrates its flaw by raising GA to #3 simply to avoid a rematch with Bammer.
