Injury stats

Has playing more players decreased injuries?
Any stats on that for us or other teams?
Conversely, does playing less players affect the numbers?
Common sense would lead you to think fresh legs would be less prone to injury but I’d like to some data. Anyone?

You pose an interesting question. I’m off the opinion that our strength and conditioning coaches do a remarkable job in not only making the players stronger and less likely to have injuries but also in developing this talent that the coaches bring in every year and getting them ready to produce early in their careers. I can recall just a few short years ago many of the ‘experts’ on tnet were calling for the heads of the strength coaches and they are actually a BIG part of the Tigers success! The Tigers have in all together.... hence national championships now and down the road.

The less snaps you play, the less chance of injury

Same goes with practice reps when you have quality depth.

Having said all of that, I also think we were fortunate to not sustain major injuries this year. It takes a bit of luck and good fortune as well...and we got that.

Trevor's neck almost cost us Syracuse game....but it didn't and then he missed no other additional time. Other than that, I can't recall a major injury to a key player (minus Dexter's suspension)
