Woodstock started on Aug 15, 1969, the same day Clemson

opened for the fall semester that year. I was offered a job by the individual who did the lighting for Woodstock---when I made my plea with the parents to take the job and be a few days late for the opening of school, they naturally put the kibosh on such an outlandish suggestion
Incidentally, in case some of us old farts were feeling a bit spry this Monday morning, there's an article in the most recent issue of "Archaeology" magazine about an archaeological dig that is currently underway at the original site of the festival on Max Yasgur's farm

I was living in Clemson in “the old White House” near the P&A Building while my father was in grad school. Those were dark days (365 to be exact) living under an ACC “ruled” by the #####.

It had been a decade since my first Tiger football game! At age sixteen I traveled to the Idaho wilderness for an International Boy Scout Jamberee with 35,000 plus in attendance. Great experience and one I will cherish. Armstrong landed on the moon and people today have so little appreciation of the effort involved! Our cellphones have more power and memory than the state of the art computers used then!

Gas was 0.25 on Hagens Street in Rock Hill that summer. Man, I loved me some "gas wars".
Also another gripe. Whatever happened to the "cent" symbol and how many on here even know what it is?

1969 was the year that I graduated from Winthrop. We paid 19 cents per gallon for gas in a bad neighborhood behind Winthrop in Rock Hill, maybe Frank St. Is there such a street? Can't quite remember.

I graduated from High School and started Clemson. Besides Abbey Road, Led Zeppelin II, Stones Let It Bleed, CCR Green River, The Band (Self Titled), The Who Tommy were released. I think I bought all of these at the record store at what is now the Burger Bar.
Anyone remember the name if the store?

I was a sophomore at CU and gas was $.19/gal on Pearman Dairy Rd. in Anderson. My Austin Healey Sprite was pretty fuel efficient and I could go home to Greenwood and back on a dollar of gas....We were lousy in football back in those days......

I remember a "gas war" in Orangeburg, where the price got all the way down to 15.9 cents a gallon. It was 21.9 at that same station for what seemed like forever. Good times.
