maybe most of the top ranked ballers, choosing a college is an important business decision and XT chose wisely. He will have a year to develop and learn from the best of the best, and then play a huge role with Foster, Henry, Pinckney and emergings DT's in 2019 and 2020.
As for Pickens and Belk, we want the right fit. These young men may want immediate playing time, especially in Belk's case, that they will not receive at Clemson. As far as fit, Dabo and Clemson chased Clowney hard, but in the end Clowney knew it was not the right fit. There would be no coasting with BV.

Many youngsters never have an opportunity to know Clemson.
The measure should be if a man can walk across the campus and not feel at home, he is not a Clemson man.......

Dabo has built a FB team/program at Clemson that won't easily be beat by anyone. And there are teams that we play and beat that has had HS 5 star recruits committed and played on their team. The proof of how good those HS 5 stars become is determined by how they are coached up once they become a college player, and our Clemson coaches have proven to be some of the best in the country with taking good players and turning them into great players. My belief is that the coot program is a long way off of becoming a championship program with a full staff of championship coaches as we have at Clemson. Those 5 star recruits that have or may sign with the coots, will never win a game against Clemson during their time with the coots. They will be dirt peckers just like the rest of them!!!! ALSO, didn't Muscrap have 5 star recruits on his team at Florida, please tell how many championships it was he won as HC at Florida!!!

Kids who grew up indoctrinated into one culture or the other are going to be hard to sway.
We always need to offer these kids, but we need not be surprised nor upset when we can’t sign them.
