The Speaker won't launch an official inquiry because

Oct 3, 2019, 9:51 AM

she doesnt have the votes and/or wishes to provide cover for her fragile majority. That much is clear. She's savvy and playing this the right way. She knows that, without more, this is a no win scenario for her.

If he's impeached in the house, its along partisan lines with the slimmest of majorities and would be DOA in the Senate or worse - meaning Trump would use the free air time in the Senate trial to pursue his 2020 campaign.

Nancy's instincts are 100% correct but she's having a difficult time holding the fire eaters in her party at bay

Or Trump found what he was looking for.

Either way. If Trump found real and damaging and illegal dirt on Biden, you can bet if there were a Senate trial Trump would bring that info front and center, and it may go even deeper than Biden.

Just knowing Trump he's fighting back hard on his end and keeping his cards face-down. After 3 years of cleaning house and getting his people into power, you can bet he's not on the defensive, except in the media. Behind the scenes he's working hard, I have no doubt, to uncover stuff. And he's probably found some too. And he will sit on that until/unless he needs to use it.

Then again maybe he has nothing.

yep. his defense would be great reality TV

and it would be gavel to gavel coverage with little room for MSM spin

You're both right.

I do not believe the 31 reps elected in 2018 from districts which Trump won want to vote to impeach. I also believe that Mueller was appointed to delay justice for the FISA abuse and spying on a POTUS campaign.

The corruption you don't hear about is what

Oct 3, 2019, 10:38 AM

is more concerning. You know it's there, always. But when a President has absolutely zero accusations of corruption and is as clean as the wind driven snow, that's when you should be concerned.

If Hillary were elected, the American people would hear ZERO about any conversations she ever has in private with a world leader. Same was true for Obama. You would only hear what they release and want you to know.

Is Trump "corrupt"? Probably. Was Obama? Probably. Was Hillary? Probably. But when you hear deafening silence, that's when you should be concerned. All things being equal.

All things are not equal.

That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out objection.

OVERRULED.

Nancy’s instincts are correct...

as long as her teeth stay in.

Oh wait..

Oct 3, 2019, 10:19 AM

She doesn’t have the votes to launch an inquiry, but she’s got the votes to impeach.

Impeach him! Nullify his Presidential term, then he can run in 2020 anyway and then win a second term in 2024.

If the Dems (or anyone) truly believe there has been an

impeachable offense - they should pursue it vigorously. If they are hesitating because it might hurt them politically, then they are a part of The Swamp.
