LPT: Always make friends with cops

I have my morning commute exactly the same from morning to morning down to the minute. I get behind the same black car going 35 in the exact same spot which gives me the perfect timing to pass the old girl.
I hit the same intersection at the same time and miss the same red light. I get to work at the same time each morning which gives me the perfect amount of time to poop.
Not this morning. I was late.
There's a weirdly placed stop sign at an intersection. The crossing road goes down to a back woods boat landing if you turn left. Nobody ever uses this road unless they go to the landing. I turn right and there's another stop sign no more than 10 feet from that stop sign. So of course I pull a rolling stop from the first stop sign to the second due to no traffic EVER.
Well the moment I do that, I have a Sheriff's deputy whip in beside me with the window down. I of course, roll mine down as well thinking, #### I'm getting a ticket.
Turns out, I went to school with the guy. He mentioned the stop sign being there then started talking about him getting a new job with 11k raise.
Let that be a lesson you can pass down to your kids. Always be friendly to the kids making C's and D's in school. They'll be pulling you over later.

I would personally know (or be kin to) the mayor, police chief, every cop, game warden, doctor, undertaker, guy who installs the stop signs, etc. Heck, I might be one of those.
But I chose to get the heck out of there, for my own sanity.
