Help with video editing

Dec 23, 2018, 2:49 PM

I am trying to import videos and photos from several different sources already downloaded on my Mac.
Here is what I am editing and trying to turn to a video with music:
GoPro and iPhoto photos and videos taken with my iPhone.

The editing programs on my computer are
GoPro Quik and iMovie 09.

Quik will not accept anything other than GoPro.
iMovie is great with the only exception being still photos do not show up when the iMovie video rolls.

How do I make iMovie play my photos
Or
Should I look to another video editing program?

TIA

I have a Mac and use screenflow.

Very easy to use but not free and not sure if is accepts the file types from GoPro.

Adobe Premiere should open most.

K Lite used to have a free version that would save out versions from most codecs.

VLC player also has some conversion ability.

Good luck
