Trying to move back close to my wife’s parents. Had our first kid literally 10 months after moving from TX. Having some family close by would be the boobees.

Don’t move to Texas man. It’s a terrible terrible state. I have traveled to every state and lived in 6. Texas is not a place I would put on my Top 20.
I cry for you.
Get the job and work remotely from anywhere but Texas.

I could live in Texas Hill Country. That entire I-35 corridor from Round Rock down to San Antonio is a fantastic area of the country. My problem would be keeping a job while being exposed to that much live music in one place.

I have been looking in Austin and San Antone since May. I have a great gig here in Memphis, but then they announced a week or so ago that our division was being sold if we couldn’t find a partner to work with to bring in different products. My feel is that no one will buy and a partner may be even less likely. So basically, I can no longer be as selective as before. But, I also wasn’t getting many callbacks. I think not being local to the jobs I’ve applied to has hurt. Lots of talent out there in those areas. I’m really hoping this one comes through, but I’m probably looking at a pretty big pay cut.
