While watching all the JFK stuff I learned something I......

Nov 18, 2013, 7:05 PM

didn't know.

Jackie Kennedy designed the color scheme etc. for Special Air Mission 26000. AKA Air Force One, when only the POTUS is on board.

I'm sure all the JFK stuff is boring to many. But I love all the history and theories of it. I've learned a lot of things I didn't previously know while watching all this stuff.

The JFK Detail with his agents has been my favorite so far.

something disturbing I learned.

when Jackie was reaching across the trunk of the car immediately after the shooting, she was actually reaching to pick up a chunk of his skull off the car and held onto to it until they got to the hospital. Cant imagine what that must have been like :(

From what I understand...

Nov 18, 2013, 7:30 PM

she knew about JFK's constant cheating but still deeply loved him. Going after parts of his brain and skull on instinct seems to back that up.

I would guess that a large percentage of DC politicians cheat on their wives. it comes with the the territory if you marry one.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems like then the marrying is one of political need

Nov 18, 2013, 7:37 PM

not based on actual love. But would a woman in a political marriage do what Jackie did?

that, and they spend a lot of time away from their families in DC. The temptation for some of them in that culture is probable going to lead to a few affairs.

Yeah Clint Hill the Secret Service Agent who jumped.........

Nov 18, 2013, 7:43 PM [ in reply to Re: While watching all the JFK stuff I learned something I...... ]

on the back of the car broke down telling about that. He was the agent assigned to Jackie.

Re: Special Air Mission 26000 = mile high club

read somewhere in someone's book about the Prez and Jackie trying to carry on the blood line at 35,000 ft.
OK married couple, their bedroom, no news here.

Agreed on some interesting things, but what about the grassy knoll? ;)

Probably cause he could. He is was a male about 45 right? Think he really loved her, but upper class persons of years ago were well known to have mistresses and not really talked about back then. Probably couldn't happen now thanks to Bill.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For JFK, I don't think the "other" woman was important

Nov 18, 2013, 7:40 PM [ in reply to I always heard she was a frigid as the iceberg that sunk the ]

he saw it as a power, alpha need and each time didn't last very long.

Just last night I learned......

Nov 18, 2013, 7:35 PM

that Oswald took a sniper shot at the Mayor/Governor (can't recall) while the target sat at his desk at home. Bullet missed his head by one inch. He wanted very much to make news I think.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't know if you've ever noticed it, but

Nov 18, 2013, 10:24 PM

the next time you see the Zapruder film, and they don't cut out the head shot, keep your eyes on Jackie. At the time of the head shot, her head is turned so that she is looking directly into the face of the President. Her face is like six inches away from the President's face when the fatal head shot happens.

I can't even begin to imagine the horror or the nightmares she experienced for the rest of her life. Unbelievable.

fully apppreciated at the time. Compared to the current and past few...

The theory I am buying into now is that Oswald's intended victim was Connelly. If one looks at his comemts up to that point, the cooments after, it makes sense. And Marina told the Warren Commission Connelly was the target, a fact the Oliver Stones of the world like to overlook.

But regardless, she was grace and truth through it at all, at only age 33.

I finally know how to pronounce carcano correctly.

Nov 19, 2013, 2:24 AM

One thing about the Nova ballistics had me
starting to think the single bullet theory might
be right after all.

They fired the same kind of round through many layers of
plywood and there was no real deformation of the bullet.
So they maintain it could have caused the 7 distinct wounds
in Kennedy and Connelly. OK, I can see that.

Then 10 minutes later they say the head shot that killed
Kennedy, that bullet was smashed and fragmented.

Seems to be contradictory?
