My first thought was that he should get a ring because he did contribute to our 2018 National Championship, especially in the TA&M game. But who's to say that if TL had started and gotten all the reps as No. 1 from day 1 he couldn't have won that game.
Then you factor in the fact that TL got hurt after KB left and we could have lost that game. Thank you Chase Brice.
But the bottom line is Dabo knows the team and he's fair and consistent.
In 2016, KB was 6 of 9 for 48 Yds and 1 TD and rushed for 22 Yds on 12 carries for 1 TD, was on the team and got a ring.
Championship rings are awarded to individuals based on a team accomplishment. Thus the team (and it's rules, and thus it's leader) gets to decide how to dole out those awards.
I'd have had zero problem with the team (via Dabo deciding and leading) gave out a ring to Bryant. I also thus have zero problems (and nor should I since it's not my decision/rules to make) when they (he) decide not to give a ring.
Either decision is defensible, and moreover is not mine to make or criticize as it belongs entirely to the team and it's leader.
