Dynasty Status?

Depends on whether they are an secheat team, or not.

Alabama, 5 in 9 years (2009-2017)
Nebraska, 3 in 4 years (92-95)
Miami, 4 in 9 years (83-91)
So Cal, 4 in 11 years (67-78)
Alabama 3 in 5 years ('61-65)
Texas, 3 in 8 years (63-70)
Oklahoma, 3 in 7 years (50-56)

I'm not going back to pre-historic times. 3 titles in fairly short period of time makes the cut. For me, 2 titles cannot be a dynasty.

The coaches are interesting.

Nick Saban, Tom Osborne, Bear Bryant, Bud Wilkinson, Darrel Royal all were dynastic coaches.
That's very high coaching cotton right there.

(Miami and Southern Cal had their runs under more than one head coach.)

Clemson and Dabo have a shot at what anyone would call a dynasty.

3/5 3/6 3/7 3/8. Something along those lines. Needs to be close to every other year or once every 3 years over a decade or more. FSU has a dynasty with their Top 5 finish for 10 consecutive years.

If you're a UGa fan or Vince Dooley, "1" is the answer....

Re: I think 3 NCs

Jun 9, 2019, 8:05 PM

in a 6 year period qualifies, especially if the team is relevant the years it didn't win the NC. UF was close in 2009, but the loss to Bama in the SECCG signaled a change of the guard. Prior to UF's run (2006-8), the real USC was close too. Ohio State had a chance after winning in 2014, but failing to make the CFP in 2015/2017-18 and 0-31 in 2016 ended that dream.
