I had elephant at a restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya, appropriately called “The Carnivore”. I asked how it was legal, they said it was raised for that specific purpose. They had every kind of crazy thing you could imagine. Gazelle, Giraffe, you name it. Elephant was dry, tough and not very flavorful. Filet Mignon was the best tasting thing they had.
