I've found the cutoff age is around 60-65. Anyone older than that reads a magazine or interacts with another human being. Anyone below 60 is glued to a phone. Myself included.

Also, people used to have their heads in magazine or news papers so it was the same. Maybe the eyes were seeing more important things, but maybe not.
