Final look before selections are announced...

Again, I am not advocating for Clemson. We could be left out, and couldn't really complain b/c we had chances. However, when comparing us to other bubble teams, it's obvious we should be in the conversation. You could make a strong argument either way.

Here is the team sheet the committee has in front of them. These are the things the committee and the NCAA have said they evaluate. This compares Clemson with 6 other bubble teams (credit to Houston772)

Clemson: Net - 35, KPI - 53, SOR - 42, BPI - 29, POM - 29, and SAG - 29.

Belmont: Net - 47, KPI - 62, SOR - 39, BPI - 46, POM - 54, and SAG - 60.
TCU: Net - 52, KPI - 39, SOR - 44, BPI - 50, POM - 48, and SAG - 39.
Ohio State: Net - 55, KPI - 50, SOR - 37, BPI - 40, POM - 44, and SAG - 41.
Temple: Net - 56, KPI - 43, SOR - 45, BPI - 72, POM - 76, and SAG - 68.
Arizona State: Net - 63, KPI - 34, SOR - 55, BPI - 60, POM - 61, and SAG - 52.
St. John's: Net - 73, KPI - 41, SOR - 53, BPI - 69, POM - 79, and SAG - 65.

How much they value these individual metrics.. no one knows. How will they value the Q1 games.... are they equal... etc... no one knows. On the surface, it looks like we have a pretty good argument to be in, and may find our name called. But who knows.

I'll say this:

I don't know how much they will use KenPom, but no team with a KenPom rating over 70 has EVER recieved an at-large. As of now, Temple is 76 and St. Johns is 78.

Clemson and NCST have the highest NET of any bubble teams (33 and 35). Next would be Texas (38), then you would have to go all the way to Belmont (47) and TCU (52) to find the next ones.

It could go either way... but if we see Temple and St. Johns pop up, we are probably NIT bound. I think this is going to set a precedent for years to come with the new metrics, so we'll see what they do.

Either way, it's the NCAAT, and it's the best sporting even (on the whole) of the year, IMO. Enjoy.
