Some guys do and some don't. Clemson gets guys that want to play on TV but not get lost in the talent pool that is the SEC. Clowney and Lattimore wanted to play against the best and the great ones do. Then there are those that want to play against WF, BC UNC, and VA and run up big stats. Two completely different types of people.
Just my opinion...

The Coots are so proud they play in the SEC, it's all they got.
The rest of the SEC sees the Coots as an embarrassment.

which team played UNC this year? I don't see them on our schedule anywhere. I'm also struggling to find UVA.
The coots however play some real powerhouses in Vandy, UK, Citadel, UCF, and oh wait...they're the ones who scheduled UNC.
They play Georgia and LSU, two tough games. But I believe ND, GT, and FSU are tougher. Our problem is, we have the coots to drag down our OOC schedule while we boost theirs.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have played Auburn, LSU and Alabama more than they have in the last 15 years due to bowl games and non conf games. Has anyone done the math? I don't think the SEC East over the last 8 or so years counts as going up against the best.

The Gamecocks have played LSU twice, Alabama twice and Auburn 5 times
Clemson has played LSU once, Alabama once and Auburn 4 times

and the whole SEC SEC family thing did;t really start until around 2007 or so when Tebow and the Gators blasted Ohio State as big underdogs. That started it all

I was way off. Don't waste your time. We've played those teams 6 times since the year 2000 they were at 9 with just LSU\Bama.

Its code for "you can play for the best team or you can play against them and have no fear of the depth chart."
