His role on the broadcast is to have opinions. He is not the play to play guy.
But to your point, he doesn't fluff Clemson 100% of the time which angers many.

for the championship game and Cutcliffe was incredible, Sumlin was pretty good too. There's no way I would watch the MNF crew do this game, they were terrible and Witten was the worst.

I don't watch MNF any more, but I've heard that Witten is awful in the booth.
Coaches film room is much more interesting.

ESPN takes another innovative idea and throws it out the window... can't get out of their own way. Surprised they don't have an all female broadcast of the game yet... coaches room replaced by the powder room... not that women don't know football, more that ESPN can't stick to sports...

plus the whole field in view.
Spanish broadcast has been great in past also - not getting annoyed with commentators (cause I can't understand them), good camera angles, and when something exciting is happening you know it simply by the inflection.
Either way - Go Tigers!
