Drinking Around the World at Epcot

Apr 5, 2018, 10:51 AM

So I tried, and failed, only because my whinyass kids cannot stay out late while Daddy gets drunk after they spent all day at Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

I had:

Canada - Unibroue flight - Ephemere White Ale, A Tout Le Monde Saison, Maudite Amber - all pretty good
Great Britain - Bass
France - Kronenbourg 1664 - Mass produced Lager, but it was hot out so it tasted OK
Moroco - Casa Beer - It was beer, nothing special
Japan - Some sunrise liquor drink, split with wife, tasted like a fruity liquor drink should taste...good
Germany - Flight - Paulaner Orginal Munich Lager, Ayinger Brau Weisse Hefe, Kostritzer Schwarzbier. All were good but I may have been getting drunj by that point. Also, it was hot. Also got a plastic stein of Oktoberfest bier, gotta figure out which one it was cause I don't think I wrote it down.
Norway - Aass Pilsner - bought cause of name, nothing special
Italy - Menabrea Biona (Blonde) - Decent, it was beer

Skipped China, Mexico, and the United States. We planned to hit Mexico on the way out but the kids were DONE. That is my biggest regret.

Disney is cool and also sucks.

Ritas at messico were great. In Germany did you get the hefe mixed with grapefruit juice? Was very solid.

The coffee ice cream margarita is pretty amazing

Apr 5, 2018, 11:05 AM

on a hot day.

As are the brioce ice cream sandwiches in France.

Sometimes I miss living down there. Not often, but sometimes. Like once a year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You moved away from here?

Apr 5, 2018, 11:07 AM

Moran. It's paradise.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lived there for two years right after school.

Apr 5, 2018, 11:20 AM

My girlfriend worked with dolphins at Epcot, then giraffes at Animal Kingdom.

It was a great experience, but Orlando wasn't for me. Downtown was a blast, I'll give it that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Gross. Had that one in Pandora. Sweetest beer I ever

tasted and it was only 2.5% alcohol. I thought it was possibly the worst beer I have ever tried, especially at that price.

You have to do it. Might as well get drunk ;)

I've never been.

Apr 5, 2018, 1:08 PM

Probably will never go.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I went as a kid. Going as a kid, and as an adult are two

Apr 5, 2018, 1:39 PM

TOTALLY different experiences. The only way I can justify going as an adult is knowing how awesome it was going as a kid, with my own kids.

If you never went as a kid, and have kids and go, it will be miserable and you will not understand how/why anyone would ever go. The secret is not to get your own kids hooked. Only way to break the cycle.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was my wife's first time and my first since 89 or 90.

Apr 5, 2018, 1:43 PM

We went once as kids, when I was 8 or so. I have memories of going and it was cool to see the kids enjoy it. ALOT of adults go without kids, especially Epcot. Alot of newlyweds as well. And the gays, they are very welcoming and inclusive.

We will go again once they mature some.

2024 purple level memberringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We have one more trip left. When our youngest is

Apr 5, 2018, 1:59 PM

6, and the next one is 10, we will go for a final trip. Kids loved it, so that's why I like it. But other than them, I would never go. Do not understand the adults who go. Anyway, I have never see a place (short of a Vegas casino) so efficient at separating money from your bank account than Disney.

I blew up that Norway bathroom

Apr 5, 2018, 1:40 PM

during the Epcot fireworks show. Everybody else was meeting Elsa and Anna and I had the bubbleguts from booze and tons of food. Dinner at Akershus followed by a quick trip to the toilet. Nice that everyone cleared out to see the fireworks, made it kinda peaceful.

At what age is the prime time to take them and they remember the trip and you are not wasting money?

were hell down there. But the 7 year old girl is PERFECT for Disney, hence the reason we went ahead and pulled the trigger. We will go back in a few years so everyone can enjoy.

Apr 5, 2018, 11:21 AM

a little older, and let him go off with friends/kin to another park, while me and my wife get turnt in Epcot.

That's the plan anyways.

badge-ringofhonor-clemsonsteve02.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ALSO, had Safari Amber in Animal Kingdom and a few

Apr 5, 2018, 1:01 PM

other beers there. Like CS02 said, beer is plentiful in that park as well. Magic Kingdom needs to step their game up. Add booze to that park and it gets alot more tolerable.
