Didn't realize how unimpressive Minn was until PSU win

Nov 10, 2019, 5:51 PM

They struggled to beat San Diego St, Fresno St, Georgia Southern, and Purdue to start the season (all one score games) giving up nearly 30pts per game to those teams. They'd definitely have to run the table and beat tOSU in the Championship game to make the top 4. One win over Penn State shouldn't cover up that level of mediocrity.

Shows how bad the big10 is.

They didn't suddenly become a good team after thier mediocre OOC games, they just played a lot lower competition.

Big10 has Ohio and no one else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

actually I think they did get better

Nov 10, 2019, 6:20 PM

Their first 4 games were struggles but after that they eviscerated their next opponents and then beat Penn State. Teams can improve

Teams improve from early in the season ALL THE TIME

Clemson is a prime example. Do you remember 2016 when we opened the season by barely beating Auburn and Troy, escaping NC State because of a missed chip shot FG only to become a wrecking ball by the end of the year?

You’re comparing those teams to South Dakota State, Fresno State, and Georgia Southern? The Fresno State game went to double overtime.

To Troy? Absolutely***

a win is a win.... if they win the B1G they certainly should get in before a non conference champion winner... PJ Fleck is doing a great job there and they have improved every game...

That SD State win was over FCS South Dakota State.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Didn't catch that. I just assumed SD St was San Diego St

Nov 10, 2019, 6:12 PM

That's even worst than I thought.

Gophers came from behind to score the game winner on the jackrabbits with three minutes left.

That mixup must happen a lot because I saw a lot of signs from the South Dakota State fans about it a few weeks ago during Gameday.

Yes it is. Some people still don't understand the concept despite being Clemson fans.

I live in the Twin Cities, and based on the prior schedule and close calls I thought PSU would win by 14. Not the case and yes they have gotten much better. Not a championship caliber team though.

Their D is awful. They arent really even a top 10 caliber team.
