perfect sense, if you've been even half alert for a while.
True visionaries such as Rockefeller, Disney, Walton, Gates - did just this: developed a top of the line product, then monopolozed it, knowing full well that they had the best product, system, and hope for the world. Sure, they welcomed competition, but then again, they went to any and all means stifle or mute that competition, thus offering their great product to the world. They KNEW they were the best, and "why doesn't the world realize it yet?".
So of course Dabo would advocate four, or even TWO teams - he's knows he's gonna' be in it every time, and "why let CF or Washington or whomever" have to come to DV for round one, the quarterfinals, and have a chance of unseating US...?
All of this said, it's still good to have other products of fine quality. I go to Wal-M and I've watched Disney, but there's a lot of other products out there that command and deserve attention.
Provincialism doesn't serve the country at the end of the day. We all know who the "provinces" are of course: the SEC and now the ACC, and one or two others. But the rest of the country now has no bandwagon, no "madness" to engage in.
The argument that the "regular season will be watered down" by going to a mere 8 teams is just a baseless fear, really. The fact is that the whole country, ALL PROVINCES, will buy in and we will have "Deck (December) Madness". So what if we still end up with Bama-Clemson Four - at least others had a chance, just like in "March Madness".
Whether you agree or not, change is coming, adjustments will be made, and a whole lot more people will benefit. Visionaries will still remain at the top no matter, so don't worry on it.

Which is dumb because it can't be undone once people realize that expansion has ruined the regular season. They won't be able to go back to four.
