D Bowman

Jul 2, 2019, 2:25 PM

Is there any word on D. Bowman and his not attending the Opening? Im in an FB recruiting group and some guy posted that "new Florida commit Derek Wingo feels good about flipping him from Clemson to the Gators." I assume that he is still very much on board. That being said, I like to keep up with our recruiting and know that Daniyel Ngata has been asked to hold on an offer from the staff. Does anyone have any insight on this situation?

Dabo was able to pull ET9 in late and Lyn-J too. I have no doubt that our coaches have a strong idea of who fits best. I think both Bowman and Ngata would be great additions.

Family issues is why he couldn’t come

No reason to think he’s wavering on his commitment. Wouldn’t listen to recruits talking about flips

If you want to feel good about our chances look at Florida's culture right now with players dropping like flies under the new staff and heading elsewhere. Now look at how many decommits clemson has had in the past 3 years. Iron sharpens iron and our athletes know this and know that Clemson will compete every year at this point for championships and they'll learn from the best staff in the country as we have 3 of the top 5 coordinators in the nation under the best HC in the nation. I would not worry, Clemson is strong for him and it is normal for our commits to go silent once they've committed as the close down their recruiting causing no news.

I agree completely with you both. That's what I love about our recruiting. Offer a few guys after they make a visit, make sure they are as committed as our coaches and expect the recruit to stick with his word. It's definitely a two way street and the stability with our coaching staff has been amazing. After Hobby and Brooks departed, I was a bit worried because of all of the experience. But, Dabo goes out and gets coach Bates who is doing a heck of a job as both a mentor and a coach. Great time to be a Tiger for sure!

~3 weeks ago, Bowman used very strong words to say he does not want to hear from any other schools and his recruitment is shut down for good.
