Local news currently has a poll about who TN wants as their next coach...

Nov 30, 2017, 5:09 PM

Tee Martin and Les Miles are each around 45% with Tee just slightly ahead.

Kevin Sumlin is around 5% and other around 5%.

I think Sumlin would be a great hire.

I don't have a clue why they haven't given Tee a call yet. He's even said he wants it. Obviously a big reason they want to keep looking foolish and not take a shot at someone who's a UT guy already.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The fact that someone out there actually WANTS that gig

Nov 30, 2017, 5:53 PM

now should be enough to move full speed ahead. Tee would likely do pretty well but can the TN nuts give him the 3 years it's going to take?

BTW I would imagine Dabo and Tee would connect pretty well from a mutual support standpoint. Clemson's gonna do what Clemson's gonna do regardless of how well Tee Martin performs up there.

TN should end the drama and get Tee in the fold immediately. It's their best save.

Go Tigers.

Is it as much chaos up there as it seems?***

Hard to say. I just got back from SC since the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

But my coworkers are grumbling....and I heard 3 of them mention Lane a time or two.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can't believe they would even consider having

Nov 30, 2017, 5:31 PM

Lane back.

I know we'd be grumbling if things had gone this poorly.

Truth....they would never take him back. But you can see that they are very concerned about how things are going. They expect the best coaches out there to be begging them for the job.

They'd be better off keeping Brady Hoke as interim for a year and getting someone permanent next year than to bring back Kiffin. Someone would need to be a special level of stupid to want that s-show back.

Tennessee coaching search is a perfect example of why true

Democracies don’t work, that athletic department needs a leader.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would think Les Miles would be a great hire for them.

Nov 30, 2017, 5:45 PM

Seems like a good fit.

Considering the state that the whole program and hiring

Nov 30, 2017, 5:57 PM

process is working, they could almost hire Les on a well-paid 1-year term just to stabilize the team and give the program time to get their next long-term leader lined up.

Currie as an AD seems like a big time liability. They probably need to make a change there pretty soon.

I actually like the idea of picking up a coach on waivers especially if its a big name coach like that that can draw recruits like les just don't let him near the QB TN

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They need to quit messing around

Nov 30, 2017, 6:02 PM

and hire Art Briles. The guy can coach. If you can excuse a little bad behavior he could win the the SEC East.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The news progam said that Sumlin is their next target.

Nov 30, 2017, 6:09 PM

What a mess. Embarrassing.

Re: Jerry Sandusky to Tennessee is what I'm hearing.

Nov 30, 2017, 7:25 PM

The Vol fans didn't want Greg Shiano, who had only mere "links" to Jerry Sandusky. The fans wanted Jerry Sandusky himself as their new HC. This will be huge if they land him.
