Couple months ago, someone on T-Net was talking about making Clemson pens with wood from the tree that was removed from Death Valley.
Any update on this?
Still really interested.

guy I know in Asheville is in contact with the tree removal guy who has the log stored at his place. trying to negotiate buying it for around $10K to mill it for slabs from the trunk, and then use the limbs for bowls, blanks, pens, etc. His dad has a full on wood shop with lathe and such.
