So I hit their webpage today and this is the lead story:

Hold on. Who TF is A$AP Rocky? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess most of you people here are asking the same question.
Even more so, they're tying it all into Trump (who I guess is demanding his release from Sweden... didn't know Trump was all caught up in amnesty for random rappers).
This has been one of my biggest criticisms of CNN: Telling us what is the major news of the day when it's far from it. They also stretch real hard to tie everything to Trump (I understand he's involved but still... it's a stretch). I'm pretty sure there's more important #### going on with our nation and our president than A$AP Rocky in Sweden. Focus on the real news.
And I've got my thoughts on Trump getting all up in this but really, shame on CNN for making this a big deal.
Or am I just an old "get off my lawn" fart for not knowing anything about this story and this dude?

well, at some point us CNN viewers like myself got tired of hearing about trump all day. When I come from work, I go straight to Netflix now.

that asked Trump to intervene on the dude's behalf. So Trump tweets something about it and our ambassador to Sweden tells his counterparts in Sweden if rapper dude is not released there will be "negative consequences". Oddball shid, fer sure, to threaten an ally because some random American rapper got in a fight over there...but seemingly par for the course with this administration.

How would anyone who follows the news not know who ASAP Rocky is at this stage? Come on man. Trump's been trying to help him and ASAP has been in the press for a bit with the Sweden story.

If someone intends to keep up they have to review stories from several sources to glean a few facts to make an assessment of truth. Almost all political writers have bias and nearly every news person has at lease a slant in one direction or another.
That isn't the only problem. Most of us reject what doesn't suit us and believe what makes or presuppositions right.
Political news is nothing but entertainment. Some folks like romantic comedies and some science fiction. A few can appreciate both but a steady diet of either doesn't happen to a well rounded person.
We all should get out more and talk to people.
