But I think most of that was the hesitancy of the runner. Had the runner been going (and not paused thinking the ball might've been caught in the air) then that play woud've been much tighter and the play at first was decently close, so a delay may have been a real problem (run scored and no out).

That would've made the fly ball out (which would've only been the second out) a candidate for a sacrifice run meaning we'd have given up 2 instead of 1 that inning.
