The Celtic thread (sorry dude) got me thinking about what it would take $ wise to start a brewery if there were a bunch of interested investors. I realize it is a very vague question but I don’t know anything about it.

I'm thinking just getting the infrastructure up to build the facility and produce enough for a brew pub and some small-time local distribution would be over 1 million.

I've never looked into it, though.

Best thing to do is make your own and get it good....

then get the name out there and do small batches and take to beer festivals/events. From there you will most likely find investors/partners.

I don’t know anything about brewing but I do like drinking. It seems like something that would be fun to be a part of.

building $37,000 (1000sq ft in Abbeville)
brew equipment so far $10,000 (this is for 30gallons and no gylcol system yet) we cold crash in a walkin cooler.

so as you can see, I've spent close to 50,000 and have no business yet.
