Hey Deuce Bags, I'm Pretty Sure Brad Brownell Knows What

Apr 9, 2019, 8:47 PM

He's up against. He may go down in flames at Clemson, but I'd be willin' to bet he's smarter than 99.9% who make the inflammatory posts on this board.

Personally, I like Brownell's style of play more than Purnell's (though I liked Purnell and thought he was great for Clemson until he left.)

In my lifetime of Clemson Basketball, if your talking about winning big, I'd probably put Tates Locke up there at the top...most of you don't realize how close we were to having Moses Malone, Tree Rollins, Skip Wise, and Stan Rome on the same team. We had Tobacco Road shaking in their boots. Believe me though, you have to have an athletic director and several prominent alumni on board to pull that off...That's not really the Brownell era at Clemson.

Brownell will win at Clemson or Radokovich will fire him...don't worry it will all play out in due time.

Mostly I made this post because I wanted to call you all Deuce Bags:)

Bobby Knight nurtured two top assistants at Army ...

... one was Tate’s Locke and the other was a Mike Krzyzewski.

Even though the two were not available concurrently, How different would things be today if we got Coach K and Duke got Tates?

I’m really not convinced Clemson would have been any better off. Duke was just a much, much better job.

But it’s still fun to think about.

Interesting...I was so young and never knew that Tates was

part of Bobby Knight's coaching tree.

... Hah! Apparently I’m too OLD to recall it accurately!

Tate’s Locke actually was head coach at Army and he hired Bobby Knight ... then Knight hired Krzyzewski.

Well, anyway ... it was a good story. ??

Is that a coaching tree or a money tree?

more $$$$ = more talent obviously in these cases
