Basketball Program

Out in LA this week for work ... beautiful weather. As for hoops program, it’s all been said over the past ten years of ups and downs, and last year’s peak and general program mediocrity.

I always loved Clemson basketball from my freshman year 1979 — think we won all 8 at home in ACC and lost all 8 ACC games on road. This was pre-TV ACC hoops, the home team refereeing was extreme without video evidence.

So one and done has damaged the college game, maybe today’s undergrads have moved on; there is just little fire or passion for Tiger basketball today. As Dabo says, the fun is in the winning and there are some/many TNetters who are fired up and rip the coaching and losing and then get ripped for their negativity. But IMHO there is a far greater number of fans like me who will always pull for the Tigers but have just become bored with the institutionalized mediocrity. This may be more of a long term threat to Clemson’s basketball future than the fans who rip the program. Anyway, just a thought. And good day Tigers!
