I guess they forgot about Bennie Cunnigham, Seneca High, Clemson University and Pittsburgh Steelers. Also Jimmy Orr, Seneca High, UGA, and Balimore Colts.

These were some lame picks!! I could add to yours by throwing the Perry's names in there along with Fuller, Crosby, Korn or George Webster, but they really missed the boat by leaving off Tony Rice.

Big thumbs up for mentioning Jimmy Orr from Seneca

(a relative) who starred at UGa and in the NFL with the Baltimore Colts led by the legendary Johnny Unitas.

They need to do some research to get the facts straight. Ray Allen played at the old Hillcrest High School in Dallzell in Sumter County. Freddie Solomon from Sumter High should have been included.

I forgot about Freddie Solomon. I just recalled Stanley Morgan, Easley High, Tennessee and Patriots.

Nope nopeity nope nope.

Invalid list if Stephen Davis of Spartanburg High isn't on there (and I mean top five, not honorable mention). Completely unstoppable RB and a record-setting track star.

I once met two guys who had their football careers ended by Davis in the same game just by attempting to tackle him.

No mention at all of Banks McFadden? Really? And what about

Nov 29, 2018, 11:02 PM

William Perry?

Neither even under “others considered” ...

Agree....a compilation like this will always initiate debate

and how the Fridge's name was omitted is puzzling. Of course, we probably both disagree with Maravich's name not being considered on a technicality---I mean, he held the state scoring record (as a 14-15 year old) for years until Alex English broke it years later. And then there was also that sterling athletic career by the Garrett kid at DW Daniel where Pete set the record.||

We Clemson fans don't particularly care about the topic, but Willie Korn was a big deal in HS too
