After Renfrow wore it, is wearing #13 considered an honor?

Jun 23, 2019, 9:25 PM

I would think so. It's like when I played Little League and everyone wanted to wear #7 because Mickey Mantle wore it. I would consider wearing #13 for CLEMSON a true honor.

Do you have to be a walk on?

Renfrow set a new standard, that's for sure

but, in the Dabo era, we have created a tradition of bringing in lightly recruited wide receivers and turning them into clutch players. Tyler Grisham (who actually wore #13), Jaron Brown and Adam Humphries all come to mind and they all went on to play in the NFL.

A major honor, as well as a major burden of expectation

If you're going to wear #13 you'd better be the hardest working man on the team, IMO.

The #28 comes to my mind about this poast

But to answer your question, yes, it should mean something special to the player wearing it...and hopefully it will (see subject line).

I heard that 13 was informally "retired" when Hunter completed his 13th year.

while the numbers are special, it is the jersey itself that is the important part - the honor so to speak
