.500 for the bowl season while the SEC is at .500.

So they're hanging their hat on that.

You can't fault the SEC homers. Most aren't smart enough to understand that more weight should be given to more important games and more even matchups.

To a moron, Arkansas beating Texas cancels out the beatdown Ole Miss took or BAMA losing on the grand stage.

If you include ND

(which I think they should be included considering they get a piece of our Bowl Lineup) the ACC is 5-6 and a Pitt wins put as at .500... The SEC still has 2 games to go - FL vs ECU and Tenn vs Iowa. I think FL beats ECU easily and the Tenn vs Iowa is a toss up depending on which IA team shows up.

What exactly are you defining as a major bowl game? Mizzou won the Cotton Bowl last year and another new years day bowl this year.

Most would say the New Year's 6 Bowls are the major bowls

Jan 2, 2015, 11:53 AM

this year, while the BCS Bowls were what were considered the major bowls last year. I'm guessing that's the OP's criteria as well.

I can see that but the Cotton Bowl has always been regarded as a big game, even though it was left out of the BCS games. Then again, for those that still don't want to believe that Mizzou belongs in the SEC, they're quietly holding up their end of the deal for a conference that has struggled in bowls lately.

NY 6 this year, Cotton was elevated this year

it has not been a major bowl for years-- BCS bowl were the major bowls for last 15 years
