I don’t think Michigan will strongly consider Brad

but it isn’t surprising that he is on their list. As I’ve said before, he’s very well respected in coaching circles (i.e., people who know and understand basketball).

With Brad, it’s not so much knowing a lot about basketball as not knowing much about winning.

Right.
Because it's his players who have earned us an above-average winning pctg in the top basketball conference in the country, but the coach who loses the close games.
At least you're consistent in your prejudice.

Who’s prejudging what in this? It’s the coach that recruits the players that lost all the close games. It’s the coach that coached the players that lost all the close games. If you don’t think a better coach would get better results, how do you explain the WBB turnaround? But if you think Clemson, as a school in the premier basketball league, isn’t a destination acceptable to a good MBB then that’s just your opinion man. Others can want and expect more.

Rick Barnes was .438 in the ACC ... just saying.***
May 13, 2019, 10:57 PM
|
|
Oliver Purnell was .446
Larry Shyatt was .250
Cliff Ellis was .384
Brad Brownell is ... .481 ... the best ever at Clemson in our history.
I’m not saying below .500 is good enough. Just saying that as it stands, there’s no valid reason to just expect better.

There is one common denominator in all these years of poor performance. With different players, different coaches, and different venues, one thing has remained constant. Each and every game was played with ACC referees. Just sayin’.

I like Brad but not having to playing every team in the ACC twice a year during the regular season has helped his league winning %, imo.

Wonder who the primary candidates are?

Beilein played a distinct style and recruited to that style. For continuity you'd think they'd want someone versed in that. Don't know who his top assistant was but you'd have to think they'd be in the running. Not many play that way.

The word on the street is that if Michigan hires Brad, then the NCAA has agreed to allow the Fab Five to come back and play one more year for them. I heard that from a bartender in the Bronx a couple of years ago, and she knows everything about everything.

Hilarious! His agent can't even start a decent rumor.

He knows that nobody(OK, the usual suspect) would believe that he is a legitimate candidate for this job. His agent couldn't get away with a "he's a candidate for the Michigan job." He had to put out "he's a secondary candidate." LOL!
That is so perfect!

Brownell? We gave him the upgrades he needed and still can't recruit or coach.
On the other hand, if Michigan is looking for a coach who doesn't need any additional trophy cases, then Brownell is definitely their guy!

"We gave him the upgrades he needed and still can't recruit or coach."
Well, back to back 20 win seasons since then, with one of those being a Sweet 16 appearance (i.e., in the top 3 or 4 seasons in our program's history)
He has his best recruiting class this year, with two four star recruits and an underrated three star recruit. The two four star recruits chose us over schools with much better basketball histories and support than we have.

You should be polishing up your Monte Lee talking points. He’s gonna need them just as badly.
