ranking of the TOP 20 headed into So year. Otherwise Clemson would probably have 3 of the top 5 with Ross being there as well.

ESPN was the only service that had fields ranked higher than Trevor in the final rankings.

very good freshman seasons too. From just this list i would say Micah Parsons had an excellent year at Penn State and i thought Surtain was excellent for Bama. Most teams, including Clemson, went after Savion Smith rather than the true freshman Surtain. Both of those guys would be in the discussion with Ross and Thomas. Ross does have his 2-game playoff performance as a trump card though. If Trevor Lawrence wasn't the MVP of the entire playoff, it was Ross.

From outside of this top 20 you had guys like Rondale Moore, Jermar Jefferson, Jaylen Waddle, Cade Mays, etc that were all outstanding.

To me, that means they are ranking what they did on the field this past year.

Regardless it is a terrible list.

Fields did nothing except in mop up duty.

And they rank Jordyn Adams who didn't play at all and went to MLB.

I agree with OP, 247 is way off on this list.
